Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Marsa Alam. Travel comfortably through the Egyptian countryside as you head north towards the historic sites of Upper Egypt.
Your first stop is Abydos, one of the most sacred places in ancient Egypt.
For thousands of years, Abydos was associated with Osiris, the god of the afterlife. Ancient Egyptians travelled here as pilgrims, believing that a connection with Osiris could help them achieve eternal life.
Today, Abydos offers an exceptional opportunity to experience ancient Egyptian history away from the country’s busiest tourist sites.
The highlight of the visit is the impressive Temple of Seti I. Its walls are covered with remarkably detailed reliefs and inscriptions showing pharaohs, gods and important religious ceremonies.
Inside the temple, you will also discover the famous Abydos King List, an important historical record that provides the names of many ancient Egyptian rulers.
Continue to Dendera, home to one of the most impressive and best-preserved temple complexes in Egypt.
The magnificent Temple of Hathor was dedicated to Hathor, the goddess associated with love, music, joy and motherhood.
As you explore the temple, admire its monumental columns, beautifully carved reliefs and remarkable astronomical scenes. The famous Hathor-headed columns are among the most distinctive features of the temple.
Look up at the decorated ceilings and discover how ancient Egyptian priests connected their religious beliefs with the movements of the stars and the heavens.
Dendera is also famous for the Dendera Zodiac, an ancient astronomical representation associated with the temple complex.
After visiting the temples, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before beginning your return journey to Marsa Alam.
